BlackBerry RIM 8800
An all-in-one smart phone - the Blackberry 8800 is the latest addition to the Blackberry series. Built in black color with silver finish, these phones are 114mm in height, 66mm in width and 134 g in weight. The general features of Blackberry 8800 series include a 65k color screen with 320 x 240 pixels resolution, QWERTY keyboard with backlighting, keyboard lock facility and trackball navigation system enabling thumb usage of the keypad.
The new Blackberry 8800 phones come with several add on features like: GPS, instant messaging, emails and text messaging, organizer, browser, multi-media player with stereo headset, voice activated dialing, Blackberry maps, expandable memory, set-up wizard, tethered modem, high capacity battery, and other advanced phone features.
All Blackberry 8800 phones exhibit specific functionalities such as:
- GPS: Global positioning system used in conjunction with Blackberry maps helps in tracking target destination and offers location-based services like social networking and employee or resource tracking.
- Complete email functionality: automatic new mail arrival notification, facilities to maintain up to 10 (supported) email accounts, easy-user options for choosing particular accounts from the list, facilities for exchanging text messages with worldwide contacts, through SMS and MMS.
- Instant messaging facilities: provide options to sign-in to communities such as Google talk, Yahoo or MSN messenger wherever you are and capable of taking instant messages even when you are traveling.
- Organizer: includes integrated address book, calendar, tasks, and memo pad.
- Voice activated dialing facility: can make calls simply by speaking the name or number of the destination, thereby offering hands-free dialing.
- Memory: 64 Mbytes flash memory
- Set-up wizard: A set-up process that guides you through the functions, features and personalization settings of the phone.
Apart from these features, the Blackberry 8800 phones are packed with still more additional functions such as a security password protection facility, Bluetooth support, and document viewer options such as MS word, Excel, Adobe PDF and PowerPoint, and Corel WordPerfect. You can download your favorite MIDI, MP3 and Polyphonic ring tones and your favorite games. The phone offers a maximum talk time of up to 5 hrs and 528 hours stand by.
