The Motorola RAZR has set the tone as a premiere fashion accessory. It has a slim and sleek design that has been seen on Hollywood's elite. The other cell phone companies quickly flooded the market with their own stylish phones and the RAZR lost some of its shine. Well Motorola has a new phone that will attempt to blow away its competitors on the market. The Motorola KRZR K1 has the same slick design as the RAZR but is it more of style over substance? Read on to find out.
The KRZR is indeed an example of how design could make a cell phone company into an industry leader. This phone is simply gorgeous to look at. It has a glossy surface made from a mineral glass. If the RAZR came in garish hot pink to endear it to fashionistas, the KRZR is a dark blue with violet highlights. The shade of blue is very attractive and we'll no doubt be seeing the phone matched with a new wardrobe. The KRZR is slimmer by an inch than the RAZR but it is longer, and because the phone is made up of light magnesium, it is easier to handle.
In terms of design alone this new KRZR is going to be top seller, but in terms of features this phone leaves much to be desired. For one thing you can find all the same features in the RAZR. The KRZR does have a better built in camera but that's not really saying much since the camera still has problems. The external display on the camera is very weak and it tends to disappear in direct sunlight. The interface is the same thing you'll find in other Motorola models. And what about the music player? It works, but that's the only good thing to say about it.
All in all the Motorola KRZR has a very sleek and beautiful design. It could win awards for that and it will sell to those who want a very nice looking phone. But the quality of the features will turn away those who care about function.
