Motorola V330
With the V330 Motorola has once again successfully merged style with substance. It looks like the V300 but with additional features like EDGE support. Like most flip phones the V330 has an external display with the usual status information. There is also the camera lens above the display. This handset has a USB port at the side along with the volume controls. It uses a dull blue rubber case though that makes it more dated than its competition. The rubber also attracts dents and nicks that will make your phone look like its been to the wars and back.
Inside the V330 are more significant improvements over its predecessors. The buttons are larger and well spaced. There is a navigation keypad that can be used for shortcuts to other functions.
The camera phone isn.t the best but it serves its function. It only has 0.3 megapixels but considering that other camera phones are serving up to 2 megapixels, the V330 is positively primitive already. You won.t be using this camera to print out your photographs. Using the zoom button only crops the image and this will ruin any resolution you would have with a blown up photo. You can record nearly ten seconds of video but it can be quite choppy and pixellated in playback.
Previous users will find the V330 interface reminiscent of the V500 series. You have your standard set of applications. The phone is Bluetooth capable if you want to use hands-free calling. What is unique about this phone is that it is the first Moto phone to make use of the EDGE interconnectivity. You can now send email or browse the internet at the never before seen speed of 384kpbs.
The V330 isn.t a cutting edge phone. It does have a variety of features but there isn.t one single tool that stands out. It.s not that stylish, it doesn.t have the best camera phone but for the common user looking for a phone with a little of everything it.s perfect.
