Pantech is a well-established mobile phone manufacturing company in Korea. Pantech entered the telecommunication field with the introduction of pager. During the starting phase, Pantech mainly concentrated on exports and domestic sales of pager. After that it focused on manufacturing cell phones and became one of the leading cell phone manufacturers in the world. Pantech group comprises three main companies Pantech & Curitel communications, Pantech Co Ltd, and Pantech C&I Co Ltd.

Pantech mobile phones are famous for their stylish appearance. Earlier they marketed their mobile phones only in Korea, but now they have spread their brand is recognized all over the world. Initially, they introduced the CCD camera mobile phones. Subsequently, Pantech introduced the 0.33 Mega pixel camera phone with flash (PD-600, PD-K600) for the first time in Korea. The company also launched the 1.3 Mega pixel camera phone, and this was a turning point that led to the rapid growth of the Pantech group. The company has established its Research and Development Center in Korea.

Pantech secured three international patents for MPEG4 compression technology. Since they provide products and services of high quality, they received the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9000 certifications. Pantech provides both GSM and CDMA standard mobile phones. Models that follow CDMA technology include the U-400, A1406PT, PA-711, PC series, PN series, TX series, CX series, DX 22B, TX 30B, and HX series among others.

Among the many models that follow GSM standard are S 100, the PG series, C 120, C 300, GI 100, GF series, GB series, G series, GA 400B, GU 1100, and GX series.

It is interesting to note that Pantech manufactured the world�s first 2M camera phone with 2x optical zoom, and 3 Mega pixel phone containing in-house CMOS module. Besides this accomplishment, they also introduced the mobile phone featuring finger print recognition. Using the latest short distance wireless technology they manufactured the first �Zigbee� phone in the world.
