Senior Flex Architect

Reports to: VP, Web Technology
Location: New York, NY (Soho)

Description

Thumbplay is looking for a very talented, self motivated Flex architect to work on the next generation product offerings. The position involves being responsible for key areas of new product launches as well as support the ongoing business. The person would be responsible for architectural software decisions, as well as software implementation in a team effort. In addition, the person would work closely with the Product / Marketing team to facilitate the delivery of top quality software products. The environment is dynamic with focus on creative thinking and usage of open source to solve complex problems and business needs.

Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of Flash development experience on major Flash/Flex Projects
  • Mastery of ActionScript 3.0 and object oriented programming
  • Experience with XML and Flash, including an understanding of XSD/DTD for validation
  • Experience building Adobe AIR applications
  • Cairngorm MVC framework (Flex frameworks)
  • Ability to independently set tasks and complete work with limited direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment and maintain high productivity
  • Ability to devise creative technical solutions
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
Additional Considerations
  • Comprehensive understanding of web browsers and front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. JSP a plus
  • AS3 related media APIs is a plus
