Bananarama is making a comeback as a duo. The now 45-year-old pop stars Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward are ready to sing and dance once more. They are in the recording studio working on a new single and a new CD. On July 28, 2007, the popular all-girl team headlined at the Retrofest in Ayrshire, Scotland, to sing before an audience of over 200,000. The first weekend of August, the British publication, Daily Mail, included a free CD of 15 of their earliest studio recordings with purchase of every newspaper. Siobhan Fahey, who originally made Bananarama a trio, is not included in their latest works, but they are not ruling out a reunion possibility. They are all still friends and have kept in touch and remained close. Sara and Keren have known each other since the age of four. The British group had several hits in the 1980s and 1990s, and they are ready to make a play to restart their successful career. Bananarama's songs have proven timeless and, therefore, success has continued to follow them. They were a trio of innocents singing for the pure fun and joy of it. They stopped recording to concentrate on different parts of their lives and now they are looking to resume the singing path of their journey. Sara has a 15-year old daughter, Alice, and they live in North London. Alice's father is no longer living with them. Keren has a 20-year old son, Thomas, and lives with her significant other of 17 years, Andrew Ridgeley, formerly of Wham fame. Keren loves her pink farmhouse in a small Cornish town with winding country lanes. The duo has been asked recently if they would consider writing a book and Sara, true to form, said no, because although they lived through some exciting times, she felt the book would have to be an honest look at the group's history, and she doesn't want her daughter to have to field the repercussions from so honest a book.
