Mexican hipster band Belanova has been one of Mexico's most successful pop acts of the mid-2000s. Coy and fashionable vocalist/songwriter Denisse Guerrero brings fun and energy to their sound. Guerrero is joined by programmer/keyboardist Edgar Huerta, and bassist Ricardo Arreola. Belanova enjoyed tremendous success in their native country, especially with their second album, Dulce Beat, whose single "Por Ti" notably logged a record-setting 29 weeks atop MTV Mexico's Top 20 chart. Belanova garnered a Latin Grammy nomination for Dulce Beat in 2006. Their first hit, "Tus Ojos" of off the album before Dulce Beat, brought Belanova attention when it was used in a Mitsubishi commercial.
