Billy Ray Cyrus has a lot going on these days. He was very popular on the 2006 season of "Dancing With the Stars," and he's going to return for the 2007 season on October 9. Billy Ray has a new CD recently released, entitled "Home At Last," and he will perform a song from that CD on "Dancing With the Stars." His new CD is getting rave reviews.
Billy Ray is also busy with two television series, including "Hannah Montana" and "Doc." Hannah Montana is shown on the Disney Channel and his new CD, "Home At Last," was produced by Walt Disney Records.
It has recently been announced that Billy Ray has been added to the lineup of celebrities for the Canadian County Music Association (CCMA) Awards in September 2007, held in Saskatchewan. The CCMA show will also be seen in the United States and Australia. He was also seen on Good Morning, America on August 31, 2007.
Something that Billy Ray is especially proud of is his association with Lee National Denim Day on October 5, 2007, for a fund-raising event to benefit the fight against breast cancer and the Women's Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. He has a history of breast cancer in his family and is especially concerned about the special women in his life: his mom, his wife, and his three daughters.
Billy Ray has made several appearances at different locations, including some Wal-Mart stores, to sign autographs and chat with his fans. Also, on August 11 and 12, 2007, Ryan Seacrest invited Billy and his daughter, Miley, to guest host his show, the "Ryan Seacrest Top 40 Countdown."
Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter, Miley, are making history. They are only the second of two families that can say they were both in the Top 20 portion of the Billboard 200 with individual chart entries. The only other family to have accomplished that was Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1966.
