Bobby Valentino, also known as Bobby Wilson, is an American singer with musical influences from urban and contemporary rhythm and blues. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on February 27, 1980, but raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
He started his career in the music industry at a young age. He formed a singing group named Mista with a group of friends. In the year 1996, the group achieved a great hit with "Blackberry Molasses" their single. In the same year, the group released a self titled album, which was met with local acclaim but saw poor national sales. Due to some management problem, the group Mista was disbanded and Valentino decided to concentrate on his studies. He attended the Clark Atlanta University, majoring in Mass Communications.
He returned to studio work after completing his graduation in 2003. A demo tape of his grabbed the attention of the successful recording artist Ludacris. Inspired by Bob's talents, Ludacris agreed to sign a new record contract under the label DTP (Disturbing the Peace) by partnering with Chaka Zulu - president of DTP. In early 2005, his first solo album entitled "Disturbing the Peace Presents...Bobby Valentino," was released and it became a runaway hit. It includes songs such as "Slow Down" "Tell Me" and "Give me a chance." In 2004, as a solo performer he released his hit single, named "Pimpin' All Over The World." Apart from these, he began to develop his career by joining hot R&B/ hip-hopstars such as Bow Wow and Omarion on the Scream 4 Tour in 2005.
Recently on May 8, 2007, he released his first single of his new album "Special Occasion," named "Turn the Page." The "Anonymous" and "Rearview (Ridin')" are the second and third singles in this album. On April 9 2007, the video of his second single album entitled "Anonymous" was premiered on Black Entertainment Television (BET).
