Brand New is currently touring throughout the United States. They are an American alternative rock band whose members include Jesse Lacey, Vincent Accardi, Garrett Tierney, Brian Lane, and Derrick Sherman as added on their latest album, released in November 2006, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.
In December 2007, Brand New will be appearing at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, New Jersey; UMBC, Baltimore, Maryland; the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City; the Electric Factory in Philadelphia; and the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio, just to name a few locales. The end of the year 2007 sees them touring all over the United States, with opening acts Thrice and Mewithoutyou.
From January 2007 through June 2007, Brand New toured in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
The song, "Jesus," was also released in 2007 as a single from the album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me. According to Brand New member, Jesse Lacey, the album title was the result of a conversation he had with a friend regarding his friend's bipolar condition. Before that, in 2006, the single "Sowing Season" from that same album was released, also by Interscope Records.
In December 2006, Brand New released an unusual video. It was called, "Untitled," and was also known simply as this sign, "-". The video is of a man spray-painting a wall with "evil and good are raging inside me." On January 19, 2007, Brand New performed the song, "Jesus Christ," on the television show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and on February 26 for the Late Show with David Letterman.
Brand New's first two albums were titled, Your Favorite Weapon and Deja Entendu. Singles released, besides the previously mentioned "Jesus" (2007) and "Sowing Season" (2006), include: "Sic Transit Gloria Glory Fades" (2004); "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" (2003); and "Jude Law and a Semester Abroad" (2002).
