Mexican rockers Cafe Tacuba are generally regarded as being at the forefront of the Rock En Espanol movement, alongside Mana, Aterciopelados, et al. However, there's considerably less of the pan-Latin rhythmic sensibility (and a greater eclecticism) in their sound than in that of their peers. Since their inception in the late 1980s, Cafe Tacuba has been a forward-looking ensemble. They've remaining on the cutting-edge by combining rock, reggae, punk, electronics, and the occasional traditional Mexican flavoring for a sui generis style that earned them the tag of "the Rock En Espanol Radiohead."
