The Prequel Once upon a time, in a far away place on Planet Rock. In a tiny galaxy called the Bronx, where hip-hop spawned, a young, inspiring MC was growing frustrated. He had no direction yet so many talents. Then one day, in the midst of confusion, he was discovered. This person who discovered the MC would later become one of hip-hop's most innovative producers. Under Ski's wing, the confused MC found focus, but not balance. There was still something missing. 8 moons later, on an electric red summer night, a walk to the corner store would change three lives forever. Alana, a mutual companion, would introduce the MC to The Architect. The MC and The Architect found out that they where born in the same hospital but found it extremely ironic that they shared the same name and even the same initials. The MC thought, How could this be? At this moment, the MC knew he found the missing piece to the puzzle and Camp Lo was born the summer of 1994. Suede (The MC) and Chiba (Architect) release their 1st single, Cooley High on Profile Records in 1995. Their second single, LUCHINI, was an anthem echoed on every block. It gave Camp Lo world wide recognition. The undeniable, timeless, classic album, Uptown Saturday Night, would follow with gold selling status. The Sequel Camp Lo's vision was now a living dream that would quickly become a dying nightmare. At the height of their success, Profile Records would use the group as bait to sell their company. There was a million dollar bidding war just for Camp Lo. In order for one to get the group, they would have to buy the entire company. After two years of limbo, Profile would be bought out by Arista Records. In 1999, Arista would re-release Uptown Saturday Night. Soon after, Camp Lo would motion to be relieved from all ties with Arista due to professional differences. The group has been looking for the right home since. After dropping 12 inch singles and white labels, featuring on a number of various projects, and touring the globe, Camp Lo would debut with their sophomore sleeper. Also classic, Let's Do It Again, was released on an independent label in 2002. More recently in 2005, the group dropped a melodic female anthem named Gotcha which featured Tyler Woods. Gotcha has once again brought Camp Lo major label. The Trilogy Taking their well known style of soulful 70's vintage nostalgia to another level, Camp Lo is currently recording their Third LP, A Piece of the Action. The trademark sound of Ski (Beatz) will magically freeze you. For the third time, he lays the foundation for the album. Also appearing, with a series of death blows, 9th Wonder brings a milky LOWAA twist. This album, including other features, is slated for late summer or early fall. However, you don't have to wait for new Camp Lo music. Fort Apache, The Mixtape, includes the hit single, Bed Rock.
