Along with the Dead '60s and the Coral, the Zutons are part of the new Mersey Beat scene that emerged in the early 2000s. Although the band owes a clear and sizable debt to the greats of the British Invasion--from the Zombies to the Hollies to the Kinks--they also embody a goofy sense of fun and abandonment that has been compared to bands like Dexy's Midnight Runners and Madness. The band released its sophomore album, TIRED OF HANGING AROUND, in 2006.
