Endorsement deals with Pepsi and risqué, high-profile live performances appearing in a shimmering, nude-colored bodysuit at the 2000 MTV awards and gyrating with a stupefied albino python at a subsequent MTV performance solidified Spears' popularity. Gossip columns spilled gallons of ink speculating on her relationship with 'N Sync star Justin Timberlake and hardly an interview went by where Spears failed to mention her faith and her virginity. However, artistically Spears' career peaked with her second album.
