Scrappy, down-to-earth, and tinged with a bit of glam spirit, California's Great White formed in the early 1980s and hit their stride in 1989 with the million-selling ONCE BITTEN..., featuring the Ian Hunter-penned hit "Once Bitten, Twice Shy." The public embraced their bluesy, straightforward approach to hard rock, and the band enjoyed several years of successful recording and touring. A sad chapter in their history occurred in 2003, when a club where they were playing in Rhode Island caught fire, taking the lives of over 100 people, including guitarist Ty Longley. Despite these setbacks, Great White soldiered on.
