Isaac Hayes is a multi-talented man who has dedicated himself to pursuits as a soul and funk singer, songwriter, record producer, arranger, actor and voice actor. He is known for his soulful, deep singing voice and also largely for his role on the cult series South Park on which he played Chef until only recently. This change comes after purportedly arguing with creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker over their particular brand of humor, aimed at Hayes' own religion of Scientology. Having released dozens of albums and hit singles and having been included in the many South Park compilations, Isaac Hayes is a man who delivers soulful music to his many dedicated fans. His tendency to funk up the tracks only adds to the mesmerising and addicting quality of his music; fans love his sense of style, rhythm and the fun-loving personality that shines through in his many songs. Most of his recordings took place in the 1970's and 1980's, arguably one of the greatest eras for modern soul and funk music. The sheer number of releases by Hayes shows how greatly he has been appreciated in the music business. People continue to be drawn to his own unique style of songwriting and performance. His most recent solo release was At Wattstax (2003), a 1970's live recording that Hayes felt would be well received by his following. Currently he is an avid promoter of Scientology and continues to be beloved for his television roles, his onstage musical performances and his dedication to the musical careers of so many other musicians. Without his intuition and knowledge of the subject, associated musicians would not be nearly as successful as they are now. He has certainly carved out a permanent niche for himself in the music industry and without him it would not be the same.
