Joanna Levesque, well-known as JoJo, was born on December 20, 1990. She is a famous Pop/ R&B singer and songwriter in the USA. Her mother was a church soloist, and young JoJo used to listen to her mother's hymns and arias and practice it in her own distinctive style. She was signed to the company and got two major recording contracts. She auditioned for Blackground Records, signed to the label and started recording tracks for her first album. She got the chance to work with renowned producers Soulshock and Karlin, Mike City and The Underdogs. At the age of 13 JoJo debuted with her self-titled multi-platinum album which reached no.4 on the US Billboard 200 chart and no.10 on Top R&B/ Hip-Hop Albums. She penned two tracks and co-produced one full song track for the album. The debut single from the album "Leave (Get Out)," released in the year 2004, hit the international music charts; no.12 in the US Billboard Hot 100, and number one in Top 40 Mainstream. JoJo's second album, "The High Road," was released in October 2006. The album got gold certification by CRIA. The main single "Too Little Too late," listed no.3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and no.2 in the US Billboard Pop 100 and became JoJo's most successful track in the US. She also started her film career in 2006, by starring in two Hollywood films ? Aquamarine and RV. JoJo is the youngest recording artist to be nominated for an MTV video music award.
