Joan Osborne is an alternative/rock singer and songwriter who is most well known for her hit single "One of Us." Although it might appear to many that she has faded from the spotlight, and indeed she has in relation to her first record, Joan Osborne has continued a lucrative music career that was kicked off with one song that all of us remember and love. Osborne is a very soulful singer, and she puts a great deal of emotion into her songs when she sings about love, life and spirituality. Hers is a brand of music best appreciated by women, however she does have her fair share of the male audience who understand her depth as a songwriter and her ability to perform well onstage.
