Keyshia Cole is a popular American rhythm and blues singer famed for her melodious voice. Besides being a singer, she is also a songwriter. Keyshia was born on the 15th of October, 1981 in Oakland, California.
Keyshia first did her song recordings with McHammer, who was popular during the late 1980s and early 1990s. After splitting up with her boyfriend, Keyshia Cole moved to Los Angeles to try and reshape her career as a singer. While in Los Angeles, she managed to impress Ron Fair, A&M records president, who signed her up for her first recording. Keyshia was so talented that she could easily secure the close association of Kanye West, the famous hip-hop star, songwriter and producer DaRon of the R&B group, Chink Santana and E-Poppi, the producer, for her first album.
Her first album 'The Way it Is' was released on June 21, 2005. This album was a path breaking success and went on to secure platinum certification. It secured a No.6 position on the U S billboard 200 albums charts. The songs in the album include 'I Changed My Mind,' 'I Just Want It,' 'I Should Have Cheated,' and 'Love.' The song 'Love' when released as a single was a runaway hit.
Keyshia Cole's album 'The Way It Is' has sold over $1.4 million in the United States alone. Her reality show 'The Way It Is Presents Keyshia Cole' is meant to promote this album of hers. She is planning to release her new album 'Just Like You' in late 2007.
Keyshia has released a unique version of the classic song 'Silent Night.' Besides being a committed singer, Keyshia nourishes certain noble ideals in her mind. She hopes to be an inspiration to the young people hailing from troubled backgrounds. She is one who strongly believes that if you have faith in something, you can positively reach your destination.
