R.K.M, whose actual name is Jose Nieves and Ken-Y or Kenney Vasquez are one of the most successful romantic urban musician duos. Ken-y concentrates in rapping romantic feelings in songs while R.K.M shows his talent in vocal lyrics. They both hail from Gurabo, Puerto Rico. They first started to perform in local clubs and private parties. Chencho, a record producer, was impressed by their performance and this consequently led to their contract with Money Machine Records which is a label owned by Veteran Notty Play. Their first album was "Masterpiece" which was released on February 14, 2006. This album got the Premio Lo Nuestro award of 2007. Masterpiece World Tour is a CD released on December 12, 2006. Their first single was "Down" which was from the album "Master piece." Wise, one of the best composers in urban music, composed this song. This song was selected as the Hot Latin Song for the Latin Billboards and was also selected as the Reggaetown Song of the Year. They sang this song in both English and Spanish languages. R.K.M's stage name was 'Rakim' but due to some legal problems with an artist with the same name he had to change his name even though he is popularly known by this name. He is single and has two children. Ken-Y has one daughter, whose name is Kimberly. Pina Records is a label of Raphy Pina. R.K.M & Keny have a tie up with this label. They performed with many famous artists like Don Omar, Daddy Yankee and Hector El father. They released a compilation album "Warriors 4." These albums feature artists like Hector y Tito, Baby Rasta y Gringo and Karel y Voltio. Masterpiece is a Commemorative Edition which was released on April 17, 2007 with the label Universal Music Latino.
