Sarah Buxton, an American country music singer, was born on July 3, 1980 in Lawrence, Kansas. Her music is the perfect combination of everything ranging from humorous to emotional lyrics. She also has been recognized as a writer who writes about pressing teen issues. When Sarah Buxton was a junior in high school, she sang Patty Loveless' 'Blame It on Your Heart' in a talent show. She learned more about music; became interested in songwriters and began to write songs. After graduation, she was inspired by Stevie Nicks, one of her musical idols who encouraged her to practice music and move to Nashville, Tennessee. After moving to Nashville, she enrolled at Nashville's Belmont University. Then she started a Southern rock band 'Stoik Oak' which toured the country for three years. After this time, Sarah and her band part ways. At the age of 22, she married the band's guitarist. But they divorced shortly afterwards. Sarah's friend John Rich, a member of the country music duo Big & Rich, helped her with writing and singing. In 2006, she signed with Lyric Street Records. That same year, her first single, 'Innocence,' was released to country radio. 'Love Is a Trip,' a track from her debut album, was used by ABC to promote its drama series 'Men In Trees.' Sarah Buxton has been featured as a back up singer for many artists, on a number of albums. That includes Kenny Rogers' 'Water and Bridges,' Cowboy Troy's 'Loco Motive' and John Corbett's eponymous debut album. Keith Urban, an Australian country music singer, recorded and released the album 'Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing,' in which the song 'Stupid Boy' was co-written by Buxton. The album also features Buxton singing back up on the track 'Tu Compañía.' Buxton's current single 'That Kind of Day' became a hit number 30 on the country charts. On July 10, 2007, she released a five-song digital EP through Lyric Street Records.
