The Brand New Heavies group has had several members over the years, but remaining with the group are Jan Kincaid, Simon Bartholomew, Andrew Levy, and N'Dea Davenport. The group released a new studio album in 2006 entitled, Get Used to It, with singer N'Dea Davenport. Before that, in 2004 the album, Allaboutthefunk, was released with Nicole Russo as the vocalist. The Brand New Heavies was formed in 1985 as an acid jazz and funk band. It was created in a suburb of London, England. The group began as what's known as an "instrumental rare groove" group and then changed their style to acid jazz as that became popular at the local night clubs. The Brand New Heavies toured during the latter part of 2006. In April 2006, the group had a reunion with N'Dea Davenport, who was with them for a while and then left the group to finish her own solo album, which she had put on hold to sing with them, and that's when the album, Get Used to It, came about. Get Used to It was released in June 2006 by way of Starbucks and other music retail stores. A song from that album, "Jump 'N' Move" was on the soundtrack of the 2006 animated movie, Happy Feet. The lead single from that album, "I Don't Know Why (I Love You)", was released early in May. There was something special about the single release. It included "A Tom Moulton Mix," and was one of only a few to do so because Moulton actually had a part in the mix itself. The Brand New Heavies released the album, We Won't Stop, in the year 2003 in Japan only. In 2000, the group's greatest hits album, Trunk Funk, was released with Carleen Anderson as the vocalist.
