Based at Brighton, England, The Pipettes are a noted British Indie pop girl group. They are highly popular for their polka dot dresses and harmonized choreography that resembles the early 60s. This music band was formed in the year 2003 by the performer, guitarist, and promoter Robert Barry who is professionally known as Monster Bobby. Monster Bobby is also a solo performer and recording artist enrolled with Hypnote Recording Concern, a New York label. He is also acclaimed as The Pipette's "Concept Engineer." The three front-women artists who are the current members of The Pipettes include Rose Elinor Dougall, with stage name Rose Pipette aka Rosay (vocal and keyboard); Gwenno Mererid Saunders, known as Gwenno Pipette (vocal and keyboard); and Rebecca Louise Stephens, professionally named Becki Pipette aka RiotBecki (vocal). The other members of the band are Monster Bobby, the founder and the principal songwriter of the Pipettes, and The Cassettes. The Cassettes include three male backing artists: the bassist Jon Falcone (stage name: Jon Cassette), the drummer Jason Adelinia (stage name: Jason Cassette), and the keyboardist Seb Falcone (stage name: Seb Cassette). During their performances, they usually wear yellow tank tops with initials sewed on them. The former members of the band were Julia and Robin of Loxley. They both left to focus on their own projects. During the performance, the girls normally occupy three stage positions facing the audience. Becki Pipette stands stage left, Gwenno Pipette stands centre stage and Rose Pipette stands stage right. When Julia left the group in early 2005, Gwenno Pipette replaced her. Soon after Gwenno joined, the group completed their three limited-edition singles "ABC," "School Uniform," and "Judy" that were immediate musical hits. "Dirty Mind" is the first widely available single of The Pipettes released the same year that led them to create their first music video. Based on the group's theme song, "We Are the Pipettes," they released their debut album with the same name on 17th July 2006 in the UK on the independent record label- Memphis Industries. It figured at no. 41 on the UK Albums Chart. "Your Kisses Are Wasted on Me" is their first official U.S. EP released on June 5, 2007 on Cherrytree /Interscope Records.
