Uni V. Sol, better known as Universol, is an artist with a passion for music and artistry. This passion came to light at a very young age, when he took to playing drums in his school band. Being a drummer was short lived. It wasn't long after his school band years that Universol would develop an uncontrollable passion for lyricism. Universol found himself drawn to English and poetry in school and saw it as a way to strengthen his skills. A disciple of an influential Hip Hop movement from the late 80's and early 90's, he found a way to express himself and become a true wordsmith. Universol received the honor of being nominated for the Most Original Male Artist in 2007 and 2008 for the Underground Music Awards, as well as recognition in the DiscMakers Independent Music World Series. Universol also received a nomination for Street Album of the Year by Justo's MixTape Awards in 2008 for his latest compilation "Concrete Music". "Concrete Music" was released in the streets September of 2006, and then re-released digitally on iTunes April 2007. Seeing the trend shift in the music industry, Universol signed a ring tone deal with Thumbplay in May of 2008 which saw him featured on New York's Hot 97 radio as part of DJ Envy's mobile mixtape. Now, with over 10,000 units sold and distributed out the trunk, the recent nominations, an increasing fan base world wide via internet, and a growing respect and admiration in the Hip Hop world, Universol is proving to be a legitimate force in the industry.
