Originally formed under the name Rainbow Butt Monkeys, this rock band from Ontario, Canada begin when the members were still high school students. After winning a local rock band search contest, members Scott Anderson, James Black, Rick Jackett, Sean Anderson, and Rob Gommerman decided to use their cash prize to put together their first CD. Letters from Chutney was released in 1995; however, in 1996 the band moved into a new direction with a different drummer (Rich Beddoe replacing Rob Gommerman) and a new name, Finger Eleven.nnFinger Eleven's first album, Tip, was released in 1998. Back home in Canada, the band enjoyed some success and a decent fan base, but U.S. listeners were still few. Their sophomore disc was released in 2000, and it wasn't until 2003's self-titled album hit the stores that people on both sides of the border (and around the globe) really began to take notice of the band. Their hit "One Thing" climbed to no. 16 on the American charts, and the album reached gold status. With their widespread success, Finger Eleven has recently put out another disc, Them vs. You vs. Me. Released in March 2007, it has slowly been gaining in popularity.nnPart of the secret to Finger Eleven's success has been the use of their songs in film and on television. Several songs, including "One Thing," have been featured on the big screen and on the tube. Movies like "Elektra" and "Daredevil" and the shows "Smallville" and "Scrubs" have all included Finger Eleven's music on their soundtracks.nnThe band is currently promoting their new CD, Them vs. You vs. Me, with a busy concert schedule and other live performances, with stops in both the U.S. and Canada.
