Reggae

If you search across America, you'll find there are few radio stations dedicated to Reggae music. One thing is certain though, the Reggae sound is engrained in today’s popular music. Its influence can be found throughout many different genres.

One of the artists first responsible for making the genre popular, was Bob Marley. He broke ground with songs like "Jammin'" and "I Shot The Sheriff", which are still among the most recognizable tunes today. His sons Stephen and Damian Marley, have continued the family tradition of music making. The brothers have recently scored hits with their own songs. Most notably Damian, with his “Welcome To Jamrock” and Stephen with “The Traffic Jam”.

Other artists like Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and iNi Kamoze and have been responsible for shaping today’s Reggae sound. They’ve all had songs that are both pure to their roots along with tracks that have crossed-over different genre lines.
