Kanye West on Fire
The Kanye West buzz is still burning up the internet. Since his shocking disruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at Sunday's awards show, West has made several apologies to Ms. Swift, apparently not satiating the public’s interest in the story. Kanye first apologized via his Twitter account, followed by a televised apology on the new Jay Leno Show, plus a personal phone call made to Taylor Swift. You know you’re hot when the President weighs-in on the controversy!
For those of you catching-up on the brouhaha, Kanye West stormed the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. The reason for the disruption? Kanye wanted to proclaim his preference for Beyonce’s video, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Always the lady, Swift politely stepped aside while Kanye West was heckled by the crowd. MTV Video Music Awards Full of Thrills
Never one to shy away from controversy, Kanye West stormed the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to proclaim his preference for Beyonce’s video, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Swift, always the lady, politely stepped aside while Kanye West was heckled by the crowd. In a display of her trademark class, Beyonce took the opportunity, when she won Video Of The Year for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” to invite Taylor Swift on-stage to finish the speech Kanye cut short.
More excitement ensued when Lady GaGa appeared to be injured during her elaborate dance sequence for her hit “Paparazzi.” In fact, it was all part of the dramatic, gory performance which morphed into horror movie madness, interpreted by some as an homage to Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" and Madonna’s famous 1980’s MTV VMA performance of “Like A Virgin.”
Earlier in the evening, Madonna gave a heartfelt tribute to Michael Jackson , preceded by a special appearance from Janet Jackson. Janet’s performance was part of a larger tribute that included dance re-enactments of Michael’s “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Bad” videos.
Other memorable live performances included Muse, with their new single “Uprising,” The All-American Rejects with " Gives You Hell,” Pitbull with his hit "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” Taylor Swift singing “You Belong With Me,” Pink performing her hit “Sober” from a trapeze, and finally, the much-anticipated “Empire State Of Mind” duet with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

American Idol Confirms Ellen Degeneres as New Judge
Renowned talk show host and comedian Ellen Degeneres surprised American Idol® fans today with the announcement she will be the fourth judge, replacing original panelist Paula Abdul. The high profile move came on the heels of last month’s surprise move by Abdul to depart the show after eight seasons.
American Idol® was a huge comeback for the songstress, making her a star of the small screen, and the adoration of a new generation. Paula was a darling of the late 80's and early 90's pop charts, with a string of #1 hits, including “Forever Your Girl,” “Straight Up” and “Cold Hearted.” Before launching her singing career, Abdul was a sought-after dance choreographer, known for her work with Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson and the Jackson family, whom she credits with discovering her cheerleading at a Lakers basketball game. Paula Abdul Leaving American Idol

Celebrity Spencer Pratt Escapes The Jungle With Hit Single
MTV's The Hills' newlyweds Spiedi might have been "tortured" by the production team of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!" and escaped with gastric ulcers, but that didn’t keep Spencer Pratt from dropping the mobile version of his new rap hit (you heard me—rap hit), “I’m a Celebrity,” on Thumbplay. Kris Allen the Surprise Victor of American Idol®
Fresh off his stunning Idol® win, the tone for Kris Allen's new single "No Boundaries" has hit Thumbplay! The Best of TV and Film
On January 11th, NBC will broadcast The 66th Annual Golden Globe® Awards. The nominees were announced a few days ago by Lipstick Jungle star Brooke Shields, The Office's Rainn Wilson, Terrence Howard and Elizabeth Banks (of 40 Year Old Virgin fame). With so many excellent Movies & TV shows out this year, the competition is very tight. Some of the actors nominated are Sean Penn for Milk, Meryl Streep for Mamma Mia!, Amy Adams for Doubt and Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight. Two of the Best Animated Film features are Bolt and Wall-E. Some of the songs nominated for Best Original Song - Motion Picture are "Once In A Lifetime" from Cadillac Records, "Down To Earth" from Wall-E and "I Thought I Lost You" from Bolt. Some of the TV Shows nominated are 30 Rock, The Office and Weeds. Also nominated are Mariska Hargitay for Law & Order and America Ferrera for Ugly Betty. Britney Spears Wins 3 Moon Men at 2008 VMAs
Pop veteran Britney Spears has never won a VMA until this year, 2008, years after the initial hysteria that surrounded the pop princess when she arrived on the scene. She took home not one, but three VMAs for her music video, Piece Of Me, including video of the year. Appearing in silver sparkly gowns, thanking god and fans, she had few words as she accepted each award.Did you love Britney's song?

Tila Tequila's Shot At Love
Tila Tequila, queen of myspace and reality star, has just tearfully concluded the second season of "Shot At Love." This time, Tila narrowed it down to female finalist, Kristy, and male finalist, Bo. Unfortunately there was no happy ending for Tila.
She turned down Bo, who seemed to really love her. "I've been calling Tila my girlfriend for a long time now," he said. "I really do love Tila.” He was heartbroken but gracious when he didn't get a key, telling her, "You always got your Bo-bear."
When Tila offered Kristy the key to her heart, Kristy responded saying, "You love that I'm honest and that I'm true to my feelings and true about who I am. If I take this key I'm not being true."
Yikes! "Why would you do that no?" Tila asked. "Why would you put me through all this process? ... I feel humiliated."
Kristy later explained that she was unsure of her feelings about being with women. Too Little Too Late, don't you think?

David Cook Wins!

David Cook triumphed in a massive 12 million vote landslide American Idol victory against opponent David Archuleta in the finale of last night's show. A number of amazing performances capped off the evening. Donna Summer and Syesha Mercado sang "Last Dance" together. Donna also sang her new hit "Stamp Your Feet".
The Top 12 contestants sang George Michael's "Faith", sung by the female contestents, and "Father Figure", sung by the male contestents. George Michael also came out and performed live. Teen sensations, the Jonas Brothers performed S.O.S.. The top 12 Idol finalists performed Brian Adams songs, and then Brian Adams came out and sang a couple as well.
And that's not all! OneRepublic performed "Apologize". Season 6 Idol Jordin Sparks performed her new hit "One Step At A Time", and Season 4 Idol Carrie Underwood performed her new single "Last Name".

Battle of the Davids: Songs From Last Night's American Idol
Tonight is the the night! The final two contestants on the 2008 season of American Idol performed last night, and the winner will be chosen in just a couple hours.
In the contestant's last chance to woo America, they performed classic favorites.
Andrew Lloyd-Webber appeared on the show as a coach.
David Cook sang U2’s With Or Without You. Simon suggested that Cook should have performed a different song, such as Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, or Lionel Richie's Hello.
David Archuletta sang Elton John’s Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
Bonus! Last week David Cook performed Switchfoot's hit Dare You To Move.

Michael Jackson's Thriller Heating Up Dance TV
25 years later, Michael Jackson's hit album, Thriller, is getting people excited, now on reality dance television shows.
On tonight's episode of Dancing with the Stars, a Thriller tribute will be performed by Seventeen dancers along with Omarion and Mya. Their routine will be set to a medley of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller." America will be tuned in for this one. Currently Dancing With the Stars is viewed by an audience of 20 million viewers per episode!
And soon after that, audiences can enjoy another take on Thriller when Bravo's Step It Up & Dance has a Thriller Episode. The Step It Up & Dance cast has previously performed their Thriller routine live on the Today show and at the Tribecca Film Festival. On the May 29th episode of The Step It Up & Dance, you can see what you may have missed as the cast performs their Thriller tribute once again. This episode will also include a segment with "Man In The Mirror" from the Bad album.

Pickler and Swift score big at the CMT Awards
Kellie Pickler won three awards Monday night at the 2008 CMT Music Awards in Nashville: Tearjerker Video of the Year, Breakthrough of the Year for "I Wonder," and the Performance of the Year award for her live performance of that song on the CMA Awards broadcast on ABC.
Taylor Swift's video for "Our Song" won both Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year.

Idol Success
One of the most fascinating things about American Idol's 2006 season, wasn't necessarily the winner Taylor Hicks or runner-up Katharine McPhee. For many people, it was the number of successful solo careers that were launched by numerous Top 12 Contestants.Elliott Yamin, the underdog of the season, released an album laced with great songs. It included the radio-friendly singles Wait For You and One Word.
Probably the most successful career launched was Daughtry. He has released numerous hit songs like Home and the current smash Feels Like Tonight.

Hangin Tough Redux: The New Kids on the Block Live Friday!
Arguably the most sensational boy band of all time, The New Kids on the Block, will be appearing on the Today Show this Friday. Are you excited? Maybe we are, at least a little. The popular faces on little girls' lunch boxes and sleeping bags will show again for a performance in the Plaza. Sources close to the band say all five original New Kids - Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, and Jordan and Jonathan Knight are participating. Sure hope this isn't an April Fools joke!

American Idol Buzzes About Ferras
"Hollywood's Not America", the new song from emerging artist Ferras is stirring up quite a buzz. This singer/songwriter, reminiscent of a young Elton John, may be new to the scene, but he already landed a major score. American Idol chose his new catchy tune to be used as the farewell song, playing as contestants are dismissed from their Hollywood auditions.

Chuck Norris vs The Hoff
Hollywood movie star, Karate black belt, and all-around tough guy Chuck Norris is everywhere these days. He’s been popping up in soda commercials ads, television shows and infomercials. It seems there is no escaping him.Anyone who is familiar with Chuck, knows that he is comparable to a modern-day Bruce Lee. Although the strange cult following he’s acquired makes him more comparable to tv’s David Hasselhoff.
At least one thing that distinguishes Norris from Hasselhoff is the fact that Norris doesn’t insist on singing! But for as much flack as Hasselhoff catches for his songs, he has sold an astonishing number of records world-wide!
